Now the real discussion over possible Illinois American Buyout can Begin.
The group’s [CEO Council] work deserves kudos for not steering far beyond the contention that, in order to determine the true value of the city waterworks, the city must decide to move forward when the next once-every-five-years option to explore a buyout occurs in 2018 to get the full financial information.
That in itself is not necessarily new information. But the road map that the panel [CEO Council Committee] offered for next steps serves to re-start this recurring discussion a little early and to allow the citizenry to more carefully consider whether it is worth the time, money and effort to proceed with getting the data needed to reach an informed conclusion.
