The Big Table Greater Peoria started as a day-long regional community building event in the fall of 2019. It brought together community members to exchange ideas and to discuss common challenges and opportunities for making the Greater Peoria region a better place to live, work, and play. Most importantly, the event created a platform for new connections among community members, providing an opportunity to discuss important issues—together. Since that first gathering, a dozen more events have been held in all five of our region’s counties. These gatherings, both in-person and virtual, covered a range of topics such as business and workforce development, innovation, racial justice, rural development, and quality of life. Collectively, we have heard from over 1,500 of the region’s residents who represent a wide spectrum of voices among our diverse communities. The full 2020 report is available here.
We are excited to announce that The Big Table Greater Peoria will be back in-person this year on Thursday, October 20th at the Peoria Civic Center! Register here.
The Big Table Greater Peoria has continued to promote regional community building through conversations designed to strengthen and connect communities.
